What is PVC coated fabric?

PVC, which stands for Polyvinyl Chloride, is a heavy-duty texture often used for flexible fabric structures. It is composed of adhesive agents, polyester scrims and an exterior PVC coating.

PVC is constructed with two substances: chlorine, which is derived from sea salt, and ethylene, a compound that comes from crude oil. Both of these elements are mixed together to produce ethylene dichloride, which is then exposed to a high level of heating and polymerization to generate the powder known as “polyvinyl chloride resin.”

Fabric Choices

The benefits of PVC coated fabric?

Users of PVC fabric enjoy the advantage of having a heavier, dense, and robust fabric. Overall, all of our PVC fabric consists of a polyester middle layer, covered with polyvinyl chloride resin coating on both sides, then finished with a top laquer coating, making it not only easy to clean, but extremely durable and rigid.

PVC texture is a cost-effective option compared with the traditional roofing system. When manufactured in bright white colour, this robust fabric membrane reduces radiant heat gain, keeping interior temperatures cooler during warmer weather conditions.

PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)
vs.
PE (Polyethylene or Commercial Fabric)

Most of our customers prefer PVC fabric because it does much better in tensile strength and tearing strength vs PE Fabric.

At Arctic Shelter, we only carry PVC fabric to ensure

customer satisfaction.
